The Huddle: Talk about the fastbreak after the turn near the goalline; smart play, or only smart because it worked?
Mike Whitaker: The fast break idea was excellent off of a quick turnover near the endzone. However, the play was smart in this case only because it worked. That was a very difficult throw and catch into a tight spot in the endzone.
Andrew Fleming: Quick breaks like this are tricky. A rushed throw is difficult to execute, especially on a small window. At the same time, the first look is often the best in a fastbreak as the defense is still struggling to set itself. On this point, Seth took just enough time to execute the throw well, and of course the decision looks great in hindsight. Regardless of the outcome, though, there is a lot to be said for trusting in yourself and your teammates and taking the shots that you know you can hit, especially as things get tight down the stretch.
